It was the first gig with new guitarist (“The Rev” from The Towers Of London) and new drummer Brian.

“I just got back to London from Lisbon (thanks easyjet for 2 hour delay…)
Enjoyed Lisbon a lot, nice to have some sunshine for a day and finally see the Prodigy again. I hadn’t seen them live for 6 months (usually i average about 20 shows over that period) so when they kicked off with Wake The Fuck Up it just hit me again how good they are and how much energy there is. WTFU and Their Law are for me the most defining tracks of their live shows, and definitely the best start possible.
Then they played that cover of ‘War’. I hadn’t heard it live before and despite the criticism it got on the board here i thought this actually worked really well and nice to hear something a bit different.
As someone said above, the rest of the set list was the ‘usual’ one they’d been playing in 2006. I don’t think we should hold this against them as the other option for them would be to not tour at all until the next album is ready, so i prefer it this way and i think it helps them to keep going rather than just hide away in the studio. Only track i was hoping they would have added was Death Ken Beats, but one can dream…
Had a brief chat to Liam as well afterwards and he pretty much confirmed the same thing as from that prodigy.nl interview, he’s aiming for a single by end of year and album early next year… i guess we’ll see.
With regards to the new live-line up, I’m not fully sold on that yet. But with the amount of shows I’ve seen i’m probably not fully objective, so lets see. New drummer seemed very ‘mechanic’. The guitars you couldnt hear as per usual, new guitarist had a good stage presence though, but dont think he blended in as well as Rob did.
Overall good gig though!”
FinalX highlights:
Awesome gig as always. Flint’s white hair suits him nicely, Maxim keep the same visual though. Bruised pratically everywhere as a result of being in the front row, was well worth it though.
Maxim came over to the crow two times one on each side of the stage, pretty nice.
War was nice but it can of reminded my of the vibe of Razor to be honest. Not that i think Razor is a bad track, but it just does soon newish.
